HISTORY

In September 2012, Angela Flanders launched her second shop in Artillery Passage, Spitalfields. Artillery Passage forms part of a secret network of old passageways surrounding Spitalfields Market, housing a selection of renowned restaurants, bars and clothing boutiques.  Neighbouring restaurants including Ottolenghi Spitalfields make this a perfume destination worth visiting.

The area is rich in history and bears witness to the various communities that have shaped its character over the centuries. Most famously, having been converted into the Old Artillery Ground in 1538 under Henry VIII, it then became home to a wave of Huguenot refugees who arrived from France in the late 17th/early 18th centuries, bringing their silk-weaving skills and establishing the Old Artillery Ground as a centre of the London silk weaving industry.

This shop is an exquisite example of a Georgian fronted building and has been decorated in her own inimitable style – reflecting its original character and charm, enhanced by Angela’s own artistic touches. To mark the launch of her new shop, Angela Flanders released a new range of men’s fragrances called The Artillery Collection – stylish, contemporary interpretations of classic colognes designed to appeal to the nearby City Boys.
