Shantung Dream was recently introduced into the Spitalfields-based, family-owned fragrance House’s premier Atelier Collection, take its inspiration from from fabrics “translated into perfume”. Founded by former costume designer Angela Flanders, the company is now helmed by her daughter Kate Evans.
Shantung Dream is named after the slightly irregular, yet very precious, silk often used for wedding dresses. Celebrating beautiful flaws, the luminous Shantung Dream opens with neroli and petitgrain floating above gardenia, jasmine, sweet orange and fig, on top of a base of sandalwood, tonka bean, amber and tolu with a delicate hint of musky ambrettolide.
According to Evans, “The fragrance is also inspired by the dream of a wonderful holiday, spending the day in the sunshine, the warmth of hot sand under your feet, a luxuriously carefree moment at the end of the day feeling pampered and relaxed, with a golden glow of bliss"
