Hidden in a corner of Dennis Severs' House, our iconic Mr Severs candle lends its distinctive festive fragrance to this magical place. This 18th century Silk Weavers House located at 18 Folgate Street in Spitalfields, is one of the most entrancing and unusual experiences in London. We highly recommend a visit, especially at this time of the year, when the house is decked out in elaborate Christmas decorations! Why not combine a visit to the house with a visit to our Spitalfields shop? Or to our Columbia Road shop, just a 15 minute walk from there.
When Angela Flanders was asked to create an exclusive fragrance for the house, she was inspired by the seasonal displays of Christmas cakes, sweet meats, jellies and fruits. ‘Mr Severs’ candle emits its gentle wave of scent, transporting essences of sweet orange, bergamot, amber, woods, cinnamon and clove throughout the home.
Due the the current situation, this season the house will reopen for limited visits on selected dates on the Ground Floor only. Admittance will be free with no booking required. Donations to the house are welcome.
